Holy Cow! This looks like Science Fiction….. but it’s not.

Really, truly, Amazon plans to deliver goods BY FLYING DRONES in the not-too-distant-future. (perhaps 2015!?)

It’s Technology on steroids.

  1. Woo Hoo! How cool would that be?!

  2. That is severely cool! But it would only work if you had a nearby distribution center….

    • Yes, I think you’re right. I believe I saw somewhere that it would be a 10 mile radius or something. But …. in any case….. still pretty darn cool!

  3. Do you pay extra for the cute yellow box? Do you return it? Do they send. drone to retrieve it? What if you’re not home? That’s too far away from the house for my comfort. We can’t spend money fast enough! YIKES! A little scary, if you ask me. But a little cool, too. I’m conflicted. :-)

    • ha ha ha!!! All those questions dashed through my mind too!! I can picture neighborhood kids trying to “capture” it as it comes in for a landing, too. It will be fun to watch. And , yes, I’d order something to watch it be delivered. I’m that geeky. :)

  4. Time to get out the BB Gun again I think. Or the catapult. Or the pulting cat.

And if it evades all of that, I will order a box of exploding arsenic for my ex-wife ;-)

  5. Isn’t this crazy fun? Probably never come to this area with crazies offering $100 bounty on drones.

    • I’m sure you’re right. I’ll bet lots of people would enjoy the sport of knocking them out of the sky. Can’t figure how they’ll get around that…..

:) Yes, and I was also thinking about the fact that there is already so much over-shopping! How much will this add to that?

        • It will add me, that’s for sure. I don’t think I could resist watching a drone deliver my package! :)

Well, I think it will be even longer before anything like that makes it to Italy. So I’m probably safe for quite a while yet!

  8. What do you suppose they would charge for instant shipping?

    • hmmm…. I wondered about that, too. I have a Prime subscription, so I get fast free delivery, but I am always given an even faster option that costs $. I imagine a lightening fast delivery done by very expensive machinery would probably cost, too, don’t you think? It will be interesting to see how this develops.

  9. I think it’s the coolest thing, ever! I’d like to order about 15 things, two or three minutes apart, then set up lawn chairs for my friends, so we could sit in the driveway and watch them all coming in, one after the other. I could be my own air traffic controller. *snort* And Al, I want to know where to buy a pultacat? I think I need one of those in the mix, too. Just in case a rogue drone needs to be taken out.

Oh, I’m so down with this!
