Twitter was ‘born’ 7 years ago. My how it’s grown. Twitter now boasts over 200 MILLION active users, and over 400 MILLION tweets are sent every day.
USA today put together a list of some “first tweets” by celebrities, and you can read that, here.
Happy Birthday, Twitter! Watch 7 years unfold in under 2 minutes.
(I wonder what Alexander Graham Bell would think of this? 🙂 )
When it first started, I thought it would never take off and now it’s changing the world. Not much of a Tweeter myself, although a big twit sometimes, but I do enjoy checking in from time to time to see what folks are up to. I LOVE this ad.
It is amazing how it has swept the world. I didn’t “get” it, either. Then again, I didn’t “get” the whole internet thing. I’ll have to write a post about my foolishness. 🙂
Thanks for this — you really keep us up to date on all this tech stuff and while some of us does not apply to me (yet)–I find a lot of your posts informative and interesting –

It’s great during meetings people can comment at a specific hashtag during the meeting, and the presenter knows what is going on right away. It’s a way to develop interactivity into the presentation. I did an article on it when I first started blogging.
I love Twitter. My fav social networking site.
