How to Delete a Text Message from Your iPhone in iOS7 (and earlier)

The time comes to each and every text-er when you want to delete a text.

(If you have NOT upgraded your iPhone to iOS7, and you want to delete a text, just take a look at this old “how to” post: How to Delete a Text Message from Your iPhone )

The method for deleting messages in iOS7 has changed, and it’s a little tricky to find.

So, here is how to delete a text message in iOS 7:

You’ve just said something via text and you want to erase it from your phone.
You don’t want the kids to see where you hid the presents (or whatever else you might have said! 😯 ).

Hold your finger on the offending text. The word “more” will appear above it.

As soon as you tap on “More”, you will notice that you now have the ability to “check” individual text messages.

Check the ones you want (the circles will turn blue) and then just touch the trash can to delete them. Poof! gone!
