Hurry! Calendars 5 is FREE for 48 hours

Screen Shot 2014-05-18 at 7.54.20 PMEvery once in a while you can get something REALLY GOOD for free! And this is one of those times.

I have been using the Calendars app by Readdle for years, and I love it. However, as time moves on, things change, and this company has re-written and improved their calendar app. I had not purchased a new version, because they are ordinarily a tad pricey … $6.99. But Readdle has made their new Calendars 5 app available FREE for 48 hours. I’m not sure when the 48 hours expires, so if you’re interested, hurry, hurry.

I have downloaded this version and it is excellent. It has been rated by several sources as one of the best calendar apps available. I am delighted how you can see an entire month even on the iPhone. On the iPad it’s glorious.

There are many wonderful features, but because I want to get this information out to you quickly, in the interest of time I am going to cut and paste their app description.

From their own description:

Three things you’ll love about Calendars 5:

◆ Natural Language Input ◆

◆ Task Manager ◆
Easy to use task manager that has everything you need to organize, track and complete your to-dos.

The first smart calendar for the iPad. Its large screen is great for managing your daily schedule and enables richer interaction with your calendar.

What makes Calendars 5 great in use:

◆ All the features you love

◆ Act as you feel it
Intuitively create events with just one tap in your calendar. Drag and Drop tasks and events, swipe to switch between days and weeks, return to your ‘Today’ schedule with one tap.

  1. As you said, it’s easy to use and the calendar view is easily read on the Iphone screen. It pulled all my appts from my previous calendar and it’s much easier to see appts at a glance. Love it so far!!!!!

  2. What is the in-app purchase about? I choose my calendar mainly by the way it lets me set reminders. Any insight on that for this app? I like to set maybe four reminders, at certain intervals for many appointments (one week, four days, one day, and two hours). Will it let me do that? So far, only Fantastical has been that flexible.

    • Hmmm…. I set lots of reminders, too, and I’ve always done it with this app. Actually, I have reminders set permanently on my google calendar on my computer and this syncs automatically with the Calendars 5 app on my iPhone and iPad … so I get reminders regularly for everything (thank goodness!!) I don’t see any in-app purchases for this app … all features are available with the free download. I just looked again, and poked around, but no in-app anything. Where did that pop up for you?

      • It was a sub-title under the name in iTunes. I see now that this was the version that Syncs with Google Calendar. I use Outlook in my Windows computer, which isn’t so compatible with gmail, Even with the connector program. But I use gmail on my iPad and iPhone.

I'd love to hear what you think!
